Does Paisa connect to my bank account or read SMS?
Never. Paisa does not ask for netbanking credentials, passwords, or SMS permissions. You maintain complete control: manually log transactions with quick-add or import bank statements via PDF, CSV, or XLSX files through the isolated statement review inbox.
How does Android Nearby Device Sync work without a cloud server?
Paisa utilizes direct peer-to-peer wireless connectivity between two nearby Android phones. Both phones must have the app open, select their sync roles, and confirm a matching visual cryptographic security code before any records are merged. Data never touches an external relay server.
How are `.paisa` backups secured?
Full backups use AES-GCM authenticated encryption derived from a password you choose. The backup archive bundles your SQLite database, settings, and receipt attachments. Without your chosen password, the archive cannot be decrypted.
