Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Paisa mobile app handles information when you use it. Paisa is designed for local, offline-first money management and does not require an account.

1. Who is responsible

Verma Software (“Paisa”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) publishes the Paisa app. For privacy questions or data requests, contact skvermacodes@gmail.com.

2. Information the app handles

Information you enter. Paisa stores the financial information you choose to record, such as wallets, transactions, categories, budgets, goals, debts, recurring rules, settings, and notes. This information is stored locally in the app on your device.

Receipts and files. If you attach a receipt or import a file, Paisa processes the file you select and keeps it with the related local record on your device. Receipt capture and text recognition are initiated strictly by you.

App lock. If you enable the PIN or biometric lock, the app uses device-local security features. Biometric matching is handled by your operating system; Paisa does not receive your fingerprint or face data.

Nearby sync. If you initiate Android nearby sync, Paisa uses a local device identifier and change-tracking information to merge records between the two participating phones. The sync is initiated and confirmed by users on both devices.

Paisa does not ask for bank credentials, connect to bank accounts, or initiate payments. The app does not include third-party trackers or cloud analytics.

3. Where information goes

  • Local use: Paisa's core records are kept in the app's private storage. The app does not require an account or send those records to any cloud service.
  • Nearby sync: When you choose to sync, the participating phones exchange the changes needed for their two-way merge over the nearby-device connection. This is not a cloud backup or a device wipe.
  • Backups and exports: A full .paisa backup is encrypted and includes app data and supported attachment files. You choose where to save or share the exported file. Anyone with access to the backup file and its password may be able to open it.
  • Other apps and services: If you share a file through your operating system's share sheet, or save it to a third-party location, that destination handles it under its own privacy terms. Paisa does not control those services.

We do not sell personal information. The app has no user accounts, third-party tracking, or cloud analytics services. Platform providers may process information under their own terms when you use operating-system features such as app distribution, secure storage, notifications, camera/photo selection, or biometric authentication.

4. Device permissions

Paisa requests permissions only when a feature needs them. Availability depends on your device and operating-system version:

  • Camera and photos: to capture a receipt or choose an image to attach.
  • Biometrics: to unlock the app when you enable biometric app lock. Paisa receives an authentication result, not biometric samples.
  • Bluetooth and nearby Wi-Fi: to discover and connect to another Paisa phone when you start nearby sync on Android.
  • Location on some older Android versions: Android may require location permission and Location services for nearby-device discovery. Paisa does not use this permission to build or upload a location history.
  • Notifications: to show local reminders you configure in the app. These are scheduled on your device, not sent as Paisa push notifications.
  • File selection: to let you choose a backup, workbook, or statement to import, or a destination for an export.

You can manage permissions in your device settings. Disabling a permission may make the related feature unavailable.

5. Security

Local app data relies on your device and operating system's storage protections. An optional app lock adds an access-control step; it is not a substitute for securing your device. Full backup files are password-protected with authenticated encryption. Choose a strong backup password and keep it separate from the file. We cannot recover a forgotten password or a file that you lose.

No method of storage or transfer is completely risk-free. Keep your device and operating system updated, use a device passcode, and only sync with a phone you trust.

6. Retention and your choices

Your records remain in the app until you delete them or remove the app. Paisa does not keep a server-side copy that we can restore or erase for you. You can use the app's data controls to delete local records, export reports, create an encrypted backup, or import supported files.

Files you export or share may remain in the destination you chose, such as another app, a computer, or a storage provider. Deleting a record in Paisa does not delete independent copies of a file. Device-level backup behavior, where available, is controlled by the platform and your device settings.

7. Children's privacy

Paisa is a general personal-finance tool and is not directed to children who are below the minimum age for using the app in their location. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information on a server.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or applicable requirements change. We will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on this page. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy, as allowed by law.
